Introduction
Syngenta, a global leader in agricultural technology and sustainability, empowers farmers with science-driven innovations to address food security and environmental health. Dronezone, Syngenta’s advanced digital platform, is integral to this mission—enabling seamless management of research trials by leveraging remote sensing, drones, and data visualization for smarter agricultural decisions.
Requirement
Dronezone must support the end-to-end research trial process, from planning to assessment and reporting. It should:
-
Facilitate crop and soil analysis using satellite sensors and drone-captured imagery.
-
Enable the creation of soil and vegetation index maps.
-
Visually represent assessment data, treatment progress, comparative analytics, and temporal changes through intuitive infographics and dashboards.
-
Operate robustly across web, mobile, and tablet platforms for in-field and office use.
User
-
Researchers: Plan, conduct, and analyze research trials, requiring access to multi-source spatial data and progress insights.
-
Field and Trial Managers: Monitor in-field trials, collect real-time data, and compare treatment effectiveness.
-
Syngenta Technology & Data Teams: Oversee integration with satellite/drone streams and ensure analytics integrity.
-
Decision Makers (e.g., R&D Managers, Product Owners): Review trial outcomes and make data-driven decisions regarding innovations and product strategy.
Goal
-
Seamless data collection, visualization, and analytics for both in-field and remote users
-
Rapid detection of treatment efficacy and problem areas, supporting timely agronomic interventions
-
High transparency and comparability of research treatments over time for scientific rigor and actionable insights
