Design Decisions

  • Customer-Centric & Research-Driven: Prioritize design enhancements based on user feedback, business input, and evolving industry standards.

  • Incremental Modernization: Roll out upgrades in phases, allowing customers to experience improvements—like refreshed dashboards and streamlined processes—while minimizing disruption.

  • Consistency Across Touchpoints: Ensure a connected experience with unified branding, navigation, and workflows for both policyholders and employees.

  • Accessibility & Inclusion: Consider users’ diverse needs—providing multi-language support, mobile-first interfaces, and accessibility compliance for all web properties.

  • Smart Automation: Integrate intelligent automation for tasks like onboarding, approvals, and self-service to streamline experiences (e.g., digital Evidence of Insurability, fast application processing).

  • Security & Privacy: Uphold robust data protection protocols, delivering peace of mind for users interacting with sensitive financial information.

Design System

  • Collaborative Foundation: The design system will be built through iterative workshops and feedback loops including Marketing, Business, Designers, Developers, and real users—ensuring buy-in and relevance from all perspectives.

  • Visual identity (typography, color palette, iconography, and modernized branding)

  • Standardized UI elements (buttons, forms, cards, tables)

  • Responsive layouts for seamless desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences

  • Guidelines for interactivity, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and motion

  • Usage & Governance: Establish documentation, versioning, and governance policies to adapt the system as business needs and technology evolve.

  • Business Alignment: Components and patterns are mapped to business goals—reusable for both customer and internal employee applications, accelerating delivery and quality.

  • Continuous Evolution: System is reviewed regularly, incorporating stakeholder, regulatory, and end-user feedback for ongoing refinement.
